How We Compare Microneedling Products

We compare products by what their makers publish, check regulator databases where a product is a device, and say plainly that we do not test anything. We give no stars and no rankings.

Last reviewed:

How we compare products

  1. Published specifications. We read the maker's own page and record the figures it gives: needle length, material, needle count, cleaning steps, replacement advice and stated limits.
  2. Where the page is silent, we say so. "Not stated" is a finding.
  3. Regulators. Where a product is a device, we look in the FDA databases and report what they show, with the date. We do not describe a kit, a serum or a clinic as authorized by the FDA.
  4. Public opinions, only if cited. If we mention opinions, we link them and give the date. We never copy store ratings.

What we do not do

  • We do not test products, and we say so on every comparison.
  • We do not give stars, scores or a "top pick."
  • We do not write reviews of our own.
  • We do not let compensation change the criteria.

Where things stand

The comparison pages name products in plain text and have no purchase links. We keep a record of each page we read, with the date, so a change on the maker's side can be spotted later. If a figure changes, we update the page and the review date.

See the comparisons for kits, pens and serums.
